What Is Silicone Fabric Coating and Curing?

Silicone fabric coating and curing is a specialized manufacturing process that involves coating a textile substrate (such as polyester, nylon, glass fiber, or aramid) with liquid silicone rubber (LSR) or a solvent-free silicone dispersion. The silicone is then cured via thermal crosslinking (curing) or room temperature vulcanization (RTV), resulting in a seamless and durable high-performance composite material.

The silicone coating penetrates into the interfiber spaces of the fabric, effectively preventing edge abrasion and comprehensively enhancing its durability. The curing stage ensures a tight bond between the silicone and the fabric, providing excellent protection against heat, moisture, chemical corrosion, and UV radiation while maintaining flexibility.

This process offers high customization flexibility, allowing for single-sided, double-sided, or partial coating to meet specific needs.
