What Is Silicone Compression Molding?
Silicone compression molding is a mature, high-efficiency rubber molding process that forms solid silicone rubber into custom-shaped parts using controlled heat, sustained pressure and precision-engineered molds.
This manufacturing technique is widely favored for medium-to-high volume production of complex silicone components, offering tight dimensional tolerances, premium material performance and minimal material waste.
Compression molding utilizes pre-measured solid silicone raw material (rubber slabs or pellets) placed directly into the mold cavity. The mold is clamped under high pressure and heated to cure the silicone, shaping it into the designed geometry.
It is the optimal process for solid silicone parts, gaskets, seals, bumpers, custom profiles and thick-section silicone components.
